Network Marketing

Network marketing or multi level marketing is one of those topics that has a tendency to split an audience in two like Politics, Religion and Marmite. The background to this topic is extensive and passions often run deep when talking about it but when all is said and done and in the current economic climate there is possibly no better way to get out of debt and find financial freedom than with network marketing. But with all the debate about network marketing we need to take a close look at the topic if we are to understand its pros and its cons. The truth is that network marketing is a misunderstood concept and one which often finds itself tarred with the same brush as pyramid schemes and cash gifting programs. Despite what would appear to be some similarities, the facts are that there is very little in terms of real, shared attributes when discussing pyramid selling and network marketing. Network marketing is in fact a viable business marketing model, whereby a product is moved from a distributor to a customer often by word of mouth recommendation. This differs greatly from cash gifting and pyramid programs which have no real product and are in fact illegal. Marketing of this type, referred to by many as multi level networking is a great model for a new company to adopt as it is cost effective and can quickly establish a customer base without the need for traditional advertising and marketing costs. The history of network marketing goes back over 100 years and is embedded in the door to door sales model of the early 1950 and 60s. In more recent times, network marketing has become a much more sophisticated marketing model and which companies such as Mary Kay, AMWAY, Herbalife, Agel and ACN, to name a few have reaped huge reward from and seen tremendous business growth. Today, networking has taken on a new challenge and the home based business owner has found a new playing field to prospect and sponsor new reps while building their business in MLM. That new challenge is how to use social networking sites to build a multi level marketing business and for those who can win this war there are huge rewards out there. The bottom line is that building a successful business of any kind takes knowledge, skill, focus and a good deal of patience along the way. If you have this in place and feel ready to take on the challenge of building an income from home in your spare time or you decide to jump in at the deep end and leave your day job behind, then perhaps the right business model for you is the one we like to call network marketing.
